A great ‘free from’ snack in the making

Zesty Fruit Oaty Bites in the making. These are a great snack for anyone, especially those with allergies and intolerances. It can be hard to find snacks that are portable when you’re trying to follow a ‘free from’ diet. Snacks like these Oaty Bites can be made in so many variations they’ve been a go to for my toddlers since we introduced solids.

Just need to add the oats and these are ready to pop into the oven.

In so far: 3 small bananas, a handful of mixed dried fruit, the zest and juice of half a lemon and a sprinkle of mixed spice.

Shape into small ‘biscuit’ or finger shapes on a baking tray and cook at about 180’C for 10-15 minutes.

Due to the lack of added fat and sugar they only keep for a couple if days fresh but they freeze well. I often pop a few frozen ones in my bag as I head out the door and they’re defrosted by shack time.
