Happy Christmas everyone 😍🎄💖
What do you do with your sprout tops?
I love getting spouts on the stalk so that we can enjoy the sprout tops. Here I’ve stir fried them with julienned carrots, broccoli, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, ribbon rice noodles and king prawns.
We all love a stir fry in our house & I love trying out different veggies. A dash of soya sauce was added at the table for me & hubby but not for the girls.
Did you know that soya salt is very salty?
We often hear about hidden fats and sugar but there’s actually a lot of hidden salt in most of our diets too. It is especially important to be salt aware for young children as their kidneys are not able to cope with too much salt.
The recommendations are for up to 1g/ day for those under 1 & up to 2g for 1-3 year old and up to 3g for 4-6 year olds.
To put that into context just a teaspoon of soya sauce contains 0.7g salt!
