These little oaty nibbles (baby flapjacks!) Are such a hit with my girls.
1 banana, mashed
1/2 cup of ground oats (eg Ready Brek, supermarkets own or grind your own oats)
1/2 cup porridge oats
1 heaped tablespoon of stewed apple and peaches (see below)
Mix all of the ingredients together.
Allow to cool and store in an air tight container.
Again I’ve frozen most of these and will get them out the evening before I want them. We have friends coming for a play date this afternoon (8 months to 3 years old) so we’ll see how they go down with the older ones too.
At the moment I give 2 each at snack time with some other bits. As they’re only only 8 months old I break the nibbles into bits for the girls.
If you want a smoother texture use all ground oats.
This recipe uses apples and peaches as I had a 4 apples in the fruit bowl going over & half a tin of peaches open. I simply stewed the Apple and peaches with a little water. I’ve used it with yoghurt and on our porridges too – yummy!
